Winter in South Tyrols's South

The famous Christmas Markets in Bolzano, Merano, Val Sarentino and Trento as well as numerous events in the surrounding villages are an indicator that Christmas is slowly coming closer. Above all, the crib exhibition in St. Pauls always attracts many visitors. Also recommended and worth seeing is the Trodena mountain Advent, which stands in the spirit of a contemplative Christmas party.

The frozen lakes around Kurtinig are being transformed into huge ice rinks. Skiers can explore the many South Tyrolean skiing areas or go on a snowshoe hike across the awe-inspiring landscape.

In the South Tyrolean Unterland, carnival season is celebrated with colourful events. A famous example would be the unique and traditional "Egetman Parade" in Termeno, although it’s only celebrated in odd-numbered years. But throughout carnival is always celebrated in a very special and varied way. So there are great moves in Laives, Auer and Salurn.
